The Future Sounds Better: Silentium and Acousti Products are "making
silence using noise"
Hannover, March 13, 2006 – Silentium Ltd.
(www.silentium.com) and Acousti Products Ltd. (www.acoustiproducts.com)
announce a partnership bringing together breakthrough noise control
technologies that changes the way the future sounds.
A Much Quieter Future
Increasing cooling requirements have resulted in a steady rise year-on-year
in noise pollution emitted by a wide range of hardware from Small
Form Factor PCs to Rackmounted Server Equipment. The level of noise
tolerated by people in their homes and workplaces is falling, and
recent European Legislation reflects this trend.
Until now it has been costly and impractical to dampen noise, but
Silentium and Acousti Products
bring a unique combination of Passive and Active Noise Control (ANC)
technologies that effectively tackle the full audible spectrum
of noise emitted by hardware.
An "active assisted" sound-proofed rackmounted cabinet
is currently demonstrated at CeBIT at Hall 13 Stand A34. This exhibit
demonstrates a staggering spatial noise reduction of 16dBA in a
high airflow enclosure containing a blade server chassis as a noise
source.
The technological achievements of Silentium and Acousti Products
have been recognized by early adopters including Intel,
Dell, General Motors, Delphi, and Venmar.
Partnership
“The strategic partnership with Acousti Products is an excellent
opportunity for Silentium to broaden it's product offerings and
solutions to new markets”, said Yossi Barath, CEO of Silentium.
"The combination of passive and active noise control offers
unprecedented possibilities for the future. Noise from powerful
cooling systems can now be effectively managed – manufacturers
no longer have to choose between an inadequate cooling solution
or a noise problem!" said Jeremy Goodman, Technical Director
of Acousti Products. Both companies are committed to taking this
emerging technology to the next level.
Silentium, based in Israel, has developed a revolutionary,
embedded "Silence in a Chip" solution for manufacturers
looking for quieter products. Silentium incorporate proprietary
ANC technology (or "anti-noise"), which is in essence
"making silence using noise".
Acousti Products, based in the UK, bring to this
innovative partnership specialist acoustic materials formulated
for electronic environments and expertise in passive noise control
for hardware applications.
