"I installed the 80mm fan naked [that means without a fan gasket we hope!] in a new case that I am building. I fired up the PC with the fan installed in the rear, exhausting air out of the back. The fan itself is very quiet when running without the resistor... These fans are nothing spectacular or flashy (which they don't need to be) they are a decent quality fan. [Acousti Products] has designed a fan that will make even the most finicky person happy to own one.

"I found the fans and the silicone gaskets work together very well to create an almost totally silent fan. I would recommend these fans and gaskets to someone looking to silence their PC a little more.

[AcoustiFan C-Series™ 80mm] "I got the three 80mm AcoustiFans today and all I can say is WOW THEY'RE QUIET! I replaced the rear 80mm PAPST fan [that I had previously] and did not use the [optional] in-line resistor [that comes with the AcoustiFan] and put it's thermistor [the AcoustiFan temperature probe] in the top of the case near the PSU... I put two other 80mm fans in the lower front of the case and used the in-line resistors - these two blow over the metal sides of the HDD box... and boy does it make a HUGE difference!
I have a Lian Li 60 aluminium case and the rubber grommets and screws do not fit the small holes drilled in the metal but I still had the old mounting kits so reused them all and it has made an incredible difference to the noise in the room.
